Thanks to the support of Wikimedia Austria I was able to participate in the GLAM Wiki Camp in London in the middle of September ( https://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAMcamp_London/September_2012). The main focus of the meeting was the exchange of experiences in cooperations with GLAM-institutions. Active cooperations can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/Projects. About 30 Wikipedians and Wikimedians, among them also some ''Wikipedians in Residence'' participated in the two-day event at the ''British Library Conference Centre''. The planning of the GLAM WIKI 2013 conference which was also planned for this meeting was reduced to a minimum and delegated to a smaller group as it was not kind of an international interest. | |||
Various topics have been discussed in the following two days of the meeting, including | |||
* the selection of GLAM-partners for cooperation | |||
* problems regarding contemporary art because of copyright problems | |||
* possible conflicts of interests with the cooperation-partners | |||
* the risk to become a payed editor of the institution via ''Wikipedian in Residence'' | |||
* the need to find volunteers and motivate them | |||
* the risks of a growing bureaucracy | |||
* the challenge to handle the emblem of the Wikipedia and the Foundation responsibly in cooperations | |||
* the challenge to keep transparency for outstanding persons | |||
* the risk of conflicts between voluntary and payed contributors | |||

In the context of a Wiki Loves Monuments meeting in Oktober 2012 in Vienna, the constitution of a task force for GLAM activities was decided. The aim is to exchange information on GLAM projects, to assign priorities and to identify conflict of interests at an early stage.
